  Please read these terms carefully before registering to participate in this intel india embedded challenge 2010 (Intel® IEC 2010). If you do not agree to these terms, please do not register or participate in the contest. By proceeding with registration and participation in the contest, you agree to be legally bound by these terms.  
 
  Registration and Proposal Submission  
 
1 The Contest is open to Residents of India.
2 All national and local laws and regulations of India apply.
3 The contest is void where prohibited.
4 Participation in the Contest shall be construed as an acceptance of the terms and conditions stipulated herein.
5 Any number of teams consisting of 1–4 participants can register for the Contest.
6 A participant cannot be a member of more than one team.
7 Only one proposal per team is allowed for submission using the range of
application reference designs
available from Intel.
8 The Proposed designs must be based on Intel® Atom™ Processors for embedded computing. Visit this link for more information: http://developer.intel.com/design/intarch/atom/index.htm
9 Online Registrations close by the end of the day on Dec, 15th 2009.
10 Participants should ensure that they follow the process and timelines mentioned in the contest website www.intel.com/education/in
11 The proposal in the prescribed format should be uploaded on the website along with the duly filled up online registration form on or before Dec, 15th 2009.
12 The participants will have to regularly check the website for any developments or information that will be updated from time to time.
13 By submitting an entry you warrant that your submission:
 
does not contain any content that infringes on any third party intellectual Property (IP) rights, and that you own or otherwise have all rights necessary for the submission including any and all IP rights;
does not disclose any information which would constitute a violation of a confidentiality obligation;
does not contain any viruses, worms, spy ware, or other components or instructions that are malicious, deceptive, or designed to limit or harm the functionality of a computer;
is not subject to license terms that require any software or documentation incorporating or being derived from your contributions to be licensed to others; and
does not violate any prevailing law of the land.
 
     
  Assessment of Proposals and Mentoring From Intel  
 
14 The evaluation of the proposal will be done by the Judging panel.
15 An incomplete entry in any respect will be rejected by the Judging Panel
16 For the selected finalists, Intel will assign mentors for providing guidance. The participants and the mentor can decide a mutually convenient method for interactions which will be mainly through phone calls and emails.
17 At Intel’s discretion, Intel may bear the expenses of the travel and accommodation of the final participants for the Final Presentation or Award Ceremony. Details of this will be provided at a later stage.
18 Intel will provide one of the application reference designs to the selected finalists. It would be subject to terms and conditions to be agreed upon by the participants. The participants should use the kit solely for the purpose of developing prototype of their project for the Contest.
19 The decision/results declared by the Judging Panel regarding the inclusion or exclusion of the Proposal or the Winners or the Prize shall be final and binding. No claim or dispute whatsoever regarding the decisions or the results shall be entertained in this regard
 
     
  Rules and Regulations for Prizes  
 
20 The Prize money payment will be made in the name of respective team members in the form of account payee cheques after equally dividing the prize money amongst the members of the winning team. The team members are expected to follow necessary paper work for disbursement of the cash prize.
21 Cash grants/Prizes shall be subject to all applicable taxes as per the Government of India norms.
22 Intel may refuse to give prizes or reclaim all prizes awarded to the winners in the Contest if his/her fraud, dishonesty or non-entitlement to participate in the Contest under this rules, come to light.
23 Any breach of these Terms and Conditions herein shall disqualify the Participant from this Contest at any stage.
24 Grand prize of Rs. 10 Lac (to be given in installments) provided to the winning team will be seeding grant for solidifying the prototype and Biz model. This grant will be disbursed in periodic stages of the improvement cycle based mutual agreement between Intel and the Grand prize winning team.
 
     
  Disclaimer and Rights of Intel for Rules and Regulations of Contest  
 
25 Intel assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries. Intel is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or telephone lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Intel on account of technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this contest or downloading any materials in this contest
26 To the fullest extent allowable by law, Intel specifically disclaims any representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding the contest or the prizes including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose and implied warranties arising from course of dealing or course of performance and disqualify from the Contest.
27 By participating, all entrants/participants release Intel, its affiliates, partners, subsidiaries, officers, directors, agents, employees and all entities associated with the development and execution of this promotion from any and all liability with respect to and in any way arising from participating in this promotion, acceptance or use of prizes. Entrants/participants also agree that Intel, its affiliates, partners, subsidiaries, officers, directors, agents, employees and all entities associated with the development and execution of this promotion are not responsible or liable for any injury or damage to an entrant's or third person's computer related to or resulting from the Contest, the submission and/or its prizes. Intel is not liable for damage to a user's computer system (including, without limitation, any server failure or lost, delayed or corrupted data or other malfunction) due, either directly or indirectly, to an entrant's participation in the Contest or downloading of information in connection with the Contest. Intel reserves the right to modify or cancel the Contest in the event that any portion of any website used to administer any aspect of the Contest becomes technically corrupted
28 At any point in time if Intel finds out that a particular project idea is copied from an existing design then it reserves all the right to cancel the participating project.
29 Participation in the Contest shall be construed as an acceptance of the terms and conditions stipulated herein.
30 The Intellectual Property (IP) rights of the contest project will remain solely with the participants with Intel having rights to freely use and publish the proposal. If Intel wants to use the contest project for any other purpose, Intel would negotiate with participant team, and sign related agreement. It is recommended that the participants take appropriate steps to protect their IP rights. Intel will not be responsible for misuse/loss of IP rights that may arise due to this contest.
31 The participant undertakes to indemnify and keep Intel harmless and indemnified against any loss, damage, claims, costs and expenses which may be incurred or suffered by Intel due to breach of any terms and conditions contained herein by the participant and, or, arising from the participation of the participant in the scheme.
32 Intel may make changes to these rules /Terms and conditions at any time without notice to you and without assigning any reason and without any liability whatsoever. The most current version of the rules will be available at www.intel.com/education/in Participating/Contributing in the contest or accepting prizes will constitute acceptance of the revised rules. These rules prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials. No obligation is cast on Intel to separately intimate each individual participant with regard to such additional terms and conditions.
33 THE BANGALORE COURTS (STATE AND FEDERAL) SHALL HAVE SOLE JURISDICTION OF ANY CONTROVERSIES/DISPUTES REGARDING THE CONTEST AND THE LAWS OF INDIA SHALL GOVERN THE CONTEST. EACH ENTRANT/PARTICPANT WAIVES ANY AND ALL OBJECTIONS TO JURISDICTION AND VENUE IN THOSE COURTS AND HEREBY SUBMITS TO THE JURISDICTION OF THOSE COURTS.
